He is the author of Souls in the Hands of a Tender God, published in 2008, and the Gentle Bible, a set of daily readings promoting healing, companionship and community. Among his numerous honors are: The Tipper Gore Award of the National Council of Health Care for the Homeless and an Exemplary Service Award from
King County (Wash.) Division of Mental Health.
Craig will share the principles and practices that guide his work, speaking both from his experience in the field and his own life journey. He is a presenter with warmth, compassion, knowledge, a sense of humor, and a gift for story-telling that encourages and inspires.
When a person experiences an episode of mental illness, the person you know is hidden beneath the symptoms and suffering of the disorder. “Walking the Talk: Turning Words into Actions as Caregivers and Companions of Those Suffering with Mental Illness” will help you meet the challenges and frustrations of sharing the journey with a loved one, friend, patient, or client who is facing mental illness.
